reunited and it feels so good.

best ice in ft. lauderdale...

been driving around my hometown…

been eating at places i used to eat.

been seeing faces i used to see.

been hugging people i longed to hug.

been drinking hot tea out of debbie’s mug.

it’s good to “come home”… what a gorgeous place south florida is. what a great place to grow up. loved my school(s), loved my church(es), loved my people…memories of my dad are everywhere. people that knew and loved him still smile at the mention of his name. so do we. it’s good to hang out where you have roots. its good to reflect on what was good.

today… had crushed ice from jack’s! crushed ice makes my heart so happy…

tomorrow starts the series of reunion events that brought us down to south florida. while i’m traversing my roots and reconnecting with people that i’ve known for almost 3 decades (what??!!!!!!!! – ann carneal murphy was praying today for me and mentioned that we’d known each other for 3 decades. wow!)… i hope you will take time to review the people around you that are making an impression. thank them. be proactive. look around and see who is impacting you for good. who is entwining themselves into the fabric of your spiritual tapestry. who is infusing you with the teachings of the holy spirit. who is helping point you to the god who loves you and sent his son for you? who loves you like that? tell them thank you. recongize legacy-makers for who they are…

this one goes out to : my mom and dad, debbie and bill manwell, ann murphy, susan and bob gallion, susie and wendy hawkins… who have a place in the fabric of my spiritual heritage…

Galatians 4:4
But when the time arrived that was set by God the Father, God sent his Son, born among us of a woman, born under the conditions of the law so that he might redeem those of us who have been kidnapped by the law. Thus we have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, “Papa! Father!” Doesn’t that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you’re also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.
