to a mom friend …

Imagegotta brag on your son for a minute… and also Tom Eggebrecht you’ll want to hear this. this weekend, one of our kids said yes to Jesus. (backstory: her parents are friends of mine from high school) tonite at long hollow she ran up to me and said “mrs. robyn, will you make sure you tell ben that i said yes to jesus this week?” i said “he’ll be so excited” – your son is such a blessing to Long Hollow Children’s Ministry he gives every wednesday and sunday to kids, and teaches them to worship. our kids are connecting with God in a real way, and we are seeing them make eternally important decisions. Man, I know you are proud of him, and so am I. What an amazing man he is becoming. Thanks for sharing Him with us, and praying for him – it’s clear that He is prayed for… it matters.  We are in a spiritual battle, and I couldn’t be more thankful to have Him wielding the sword of truth with us.

they were band… tastic.

if you know me at all…then you already know how much i love these guys. they are college students. musicians. believers… and they spent their oct. 31 playing for our lhkidz county fair.

i promise you that is not what i was wanting to do when i was a senior in college… but i digress.

coolest thing, they were singing our sunday morning and wednesday night worship songs.

now, kids were busy playing on jumps and doing games so they weren’t standing around listening, but i hear them singing along, and after it all, i heard one little boy say “thanks for the music” to ben.

this is what i love so much about ben, and thomas, alex and graylin… that meant so much to him too.

these guys bring all of their brilliance and share it with kids. i love it when kids get the best, not the left overs!

the offering song that wanted to be a salvation song

offering of worship (the salvation song)

So i wanted to write a song about how there are different  ways to give offerings…  I really wanted to have a song that would be an offering of worship… in the meantime, i had been wanting to write a salvation song for awhile.

yesterday, between worship experiences in treehouse i shared the beginnings of what i thought was an offering song with ben… and sang him a few notes…that he turned that into something so special. it was literally 5 minutes of magical…

then today by a wonderful act of God our schedules collided and we added the second verse, a wonderful bridge and wrapped it up… and it turned into the perfect salvation song…

i think because we were out of the way of it, but were wanting to write an offering of our own worship, the celebration of our own salvation came out… God was so kind to give us this song and wow… just can’t wait to share it.

are you so excited about your salvation that it oozes into all of your projects?

beating a dead horse? is that so wrong?

emmy modeling the new super ninja gummy bear shirt for @lhkidz

i’ve posted quite a bit about the super ninja gummy bear in the last 24 hours. i know.

but how remiss would it be not to post the link to the amazing video on my own blog…

answer: very.

funny story… someone “jokingly” called it a golden calf, so i had to explain again where the SNGB originated.

and in doing so, it hit me… this is a very powerful evangelism tool. simple. clear. the next evangecube (which, btw i’m a huge fan of) without all the sunday school looking images. this is why:

the super ninja gummy bear originated in a script about heaven… salvation…

the character was doing everything possible to get into the super ninja gummy bear club. but was told that it wasn’t possible to earn your way in. you couldn’t do enough gummy sit ups, or anything else to earn your way in. in the script, someone had to give up their spot so that someone could join. after that… it was available to anyone and everyone, they just had to say “yes, i want to be a super ninja gummy bear”. done.

that’s how it is with heaven. Jesus. Salvation.

you can’t be good enough. you can’t work your way into God’s perfect heaven. you can never earn it. it is only because of Christ’s sacrifice that we have the hope promise of heaven. he had to make a sacrifice to pay our way to heaven. and he did. now all you have to do is say yes.

that’s like 5 sentences to share the truth of the gospel. all because of a little bear. in the coming weeks we are going to be helping kids see how important it is to share the Truth with their friends. and to think… they get to start the conversation with a bear. someone says “where’d you get that? can i get that song? that tshirt? i love that bear”… and you get to tell them what he represents. boom. EE simplified. Evangecube made easy. Gospel in a gummy little bear with made ninja “loving” skills… as the song says “anyone can join the club, all you have to do is love… everyone around” (you can only love everyone if LOVE is in you. and LOVE is only in you if the Holy Spirit is in you.

what’s your favorite way to enter into the conversation about eternity with others?
