the voice, the voice and the voice.

i love three things called “the voice” right now.

1 – a new version of the Bible called THE VOICE – once you read this, you’ll see why I am loving it so much.

“Through a collaboration of nearly 120 biblical scholars, pastors, writers, musicians, poets, and artists, The Voice recaptures the passion, grit, humor, and beauty that is often lost in the translation process. The result is a retelling of the story of the Bible in a form as fluid as modern literary works yet painstakingly true to the original manuscripts.”

2 – The VOICE tv show

I am loving the new coaches, and the spirit of camraderie and mutual respect among all 4 coaches is a relief. I was always so uncomfortable with the unkindness that seemed to be thrown around when the last girl judge was in the mix.

the artists are spectacular already, and it just gets you excited for them, as you see these accomplished musicians, blake shelton, adam levine, shakira, and usher getting excited about helping them.  it really is a highlight of the week.

3 – but most importantly. God’s voice. This week more than most weeks, God is vocal and prevalent. Christians are bolder in inviting people to join them for church. Billboards, signs, songs about the Christ who came to save us are everywhere. The gospel is the theme of the week. The crucifixion is center stage, the resurrection is the evidence of prophecy fulfilled and proof that the other promises of heaven are real.

what’s so good about this friday?

without this friday… there is no sunday.

without sunday… there is no resurrection.

without resurrection… there is no salvation.

without salvation… there is no heaven.

there is hell. that’s it.

that’s what so good about this friday.

if this doesn’t make sense to you, then we need to talk.

it means that i haven’t shared the most important thing i know, with you.

and that is on me, not you. if i have encountered you, spent time with you, cared about you… but haven’t shared the story of forgiveness with you i am at fault.

if you know the story of forgiveness and chose not to receive it…that is on you.

friends that know Jesus… tell everyone you know what’s so good about this Friday.

why should i care “who phillip randoll is”?

have you been wondering? i know i have. there are clues and he has a blog and a is active in social networks… he is all over the place…

i can’t wait for easter… to find out all about him… i have heard enough about it to know that anyone who misses will deeply regret the choice to miss out.

i can’t wait for easter… because some people will come to church that normally wouldnt come. kids will be in treehouse that have never been in a treehouse. people will hear the truth of Christ that they have never heard before.

i can’t wait for easter… because we get to sing hosanna, rocks! again. i love this new fun song by Yancy. So catchy and the kids really love it.

I can’t wait for easter… because it is when we get to celebrate that resurrection day when jesus was literally raised from the dead, and as such, conquering death (which i so grossly deserve) and buying my ticket out of hell… my entrance to heaven… my forgiveness with his perfectness.

i can’t wait for easter… because i will finally get to know who phillip randoll is… and how his “fortunate death” is good news.

please don’t miss easter at long hollow. if you live anwhere near us… DON’T CHEAT YOURSELF OUT OF IT. if history tells me anything… this will be something that is far superior to one of the shows or other things you could do in nashville this weekend.

choose your service, we have friday, saturday, sunday and sunday evening… NO EXCUSES :).
